Food Playground

Food Playground is a cooking school based in Chinatown that provides in-person and online cooking classes.

They also focus on creating a positive impact in the community by offering flexible work opportunities for homemakers and retirees by training them and turning them into qualified culinary instructors. With a focus on cultural cooking, Food Playground caters to all aspiring cooks, including the little ones.

Highlights:

Practical hands-on learning in a small class: At Food Playground, instructors provide hands-on training to kids in groups ranging from four to six.
Boot camp-style two-day workshops for kids and teens: Workshops are designed to be short but intensive and last half a day from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for two days. These boot camp courses are routinely offered during summer vacations and other holidays when kids don’t have school.
Variety of cooking skills and techniques: The menu for the two-day course is designed to incorporate various essential cooking skills for kids. From fixing a salad to baking, kids can explore different recipes that teach them cooking and baking skills they can use in their daily lives.
Certificate of achievement on completion: All participants are awarded a certificate of achievement at the end of the workshop.
