Rhubarb le Restaurant is a cozy restaurant on Duxton Hill that serves contemporary French cuisine. It first opened its doors in Singapore in 2014 under the management trio of British Chef Paul Longworth, French Maitre’d Jerome Desfonds, and their former boss, Alice Low-Ang.
Longworth and Desfonds, both alumni of Au Petit Salut, decided to venture out on their own with the blessing of Low-Ang, a seal of approval that recognized their competence and ability to serve Singapore with the best French dishes they could offer.
Highlights:
- 1-Michelin Star Restaurant: Rhubarb earned its first Michelin Star in 2016, just two years after it was established, and has retained it annually ever since.
- Omakase lunch that is worth your buck: Rhubarb’s famous omakase lunch starts from S$68 for a 3-course degustation. Every dish churned out by Chef Paul is definitely a delight and worth every penny.
- Blind Eye Tuesdays: On Tuesdays, you can bring your own bottle of wine without paying the corkage fee. One 750ml bottle is allowed for every 2 guests. The more people in your group, the more wine you can bring!
LOOK & FEEL: Neutral tones dominate the interior of this little French restaurant on Duxton Hill. It is comfortable and elegant with traces of its past as a conservation shop house. Only 8 tables are available in the main dining area where guests can watch the magic happen in the open kitchen. A private dining room is located on the second level which can accommodate a maximum of 12 persons.
