Recognising the power of young people in driving action, WWF-Singapore and Temasek Foundation are spearheading a youth-led community movement to empower younger generations in Singapore and Southeast Asia – We Got This.

Participants will be invited to attend an incubator programme in July 2022 comprising a five-day (2nd July – 6th July) boot camp – more information below!

Day 1 (2nd July) – Building sustainability knowledge
What are some environmental issues we’re facing in our region? What’s driving these crises?
Bindu Bhandari, our Outreach and Engagement Manager will address these pertinent questions while Saad Amer, Environmental Activist and Co-founder of plus1vote, will leverage on his expertise to impart simple and effective ways of communicating the complexity of science via social media.

Day 2 (3rd July) – Finding your place
Where to focus your efforts?
With the finite resources we have, how best can we dedicate our resources? In this session, Emma Segal, Sustainability Designer and Educator at The UnSchool of Disruptive Design will teach our youths to better understand the behaviours, biases, and attitudes of different demographics and with this knowledge, delegate their efforts accordingly!

Day 3 (4th July) – Getting down to business (Digital Skills)
A day in a life of a content creator
A seamless way to reach the masses is certainly social media, and Nicole Lim, a journalist and producer at Our Grandfather Story (OGS) will giving some personal tips and tricks on social media and content creation. Step into a day in her life as she brings you through the skills of idea pitching, storyboarding, videography, editing and more.

Day 4 (5th July) – Walking the Talk (Communication Skills)
Now that we’ve got the basics out of the way, let’s walk the talk.
Learn from Vivek Kumar, Chief Marketing Officer at WWF-Singapore, as he taps on his years of experience to share how best to develop an ideal strategy, effectively communicating and garnering active support from your target audience. Social media environmentalists, “Wawa” Gatheru and Qiyun Woo, will also share personal insights into successful content creation and graphic design – tools that got them to where they are today!

Day 5 (6th July) – Sustaining your activism (Community Building)
#1 Collective building – a different model
Going beyond the issue at hand, learn from Tammy Gan and Julia Gentner from Bad Activist Collective as they guide our youths to reflect on how they can work together as a community to create a vision and execute sustainable steps to reach this ultimate goal.
