Carousell

Carousell is a free mobile application that allows anyone to buy and sell online. It was founded in 2012 by three friends, Siu Rui Quek, Marcus Tan, and Lucas Ngoo, after an internship at Silicon Valley. In just seven years, the three founders grew their start-up into a US$500-Million company and the company is well on its way to becoming one of the US$1-Billion start-ups in Southeast Asia.

Carousell is known for its simple and easy listing process. It is similar to posting on social media. Just snap a photo of your item, describe, and post! Buyers can even follow their favorite sellers. You can buy or sell in various categories such as clothing, accessories, beauty products, electronic gadgets,  furniture, books, luxury goods, cars, bikes, services, real estate, and even jobs. Aside from the mobile app, users can also access the platform through a web browser.

At present, Carousell operates in Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia. It has been downloaded more than 10 million times on Google Play Store.
