  • Have fun with the malls of Frasers Property

Hit the malls for some family fun
Looking for some fun activities to enjoy with your kids? On the last two weekends of March, come on down to Changi City Point and get your creative juices flowing by signing up for an organic soap bar making workshop or an express art jamming session with a minimum spend of $80.

For bubble tea lovers, don’t miss out on making your own reusable cup sleeve for your bubble tea drink! If that’s not your cup of tea, how about making a miniature clay sculpture of your favourite food? Both of these activities can be found at Century Square and Tampines 1 every weekend from 27 March to 18 April, with a minimum spend of $50 in each respective mall.

Spread kindness to our environment and community
From 15 March to 30 April, embrace thoughtful and sustainable living by donating non-perishable food items at dedicated Food Bank Singapore boxes set up across participating malls of Frasers Property. These non-perishables will then be packed and redistributed to households in need.

Shoppers will also be rewarded for their thoughtful actions – simple drop five non-perisables into the dedicated Food Bank Singapore boxes and instantly receive a $2.50 Digital Gift Card. With this initiative, shoppers can make a difference to both the environment and their community!

  • Vintage Pop

White Space Art Asia proudly presents Vintage Pop, a show that examines the central tenets of the Pop art movement and how it continues to be relevant and resonate with a new generation of artists decades after its introduction. In this dialogue, seriality, repetition, and the eye-hungry references to mainstream popular culture and mass media are visible proofs that the concept of Pop is still pertinent in today’s contemporary art.

Vintage Pop features five contemporary artists stretching across different geographical, cultural, and ideological backgrounds. Five artists from five vastly different countries and life experiences (England, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and Singapore) will work with popular imageries and iconographies dating back to the 1960s. Alluding to iconic films, cartoons, videogames and pop music, these artists distort the still deeply entrenched demarcation between “authentic” and “commercial” culture.

Popular culture is ubiquitous but not universal. Its shape and form are defined by the prevailing sentiments and norms of a society. While each of these five artists brings a different postmodern interpretation of Pop art, the shared beliefs of the democratization of art and the use of easily identifiable iconography rooted in vintage pop weaves a global unifying language across time and geographies.

Join us as we celebrate these artists and their inimitable interpretations of Pop art in the contemporary context.

    Opening Vernissage: 3 April 2021, Saturday 4pm-8pm
    Exhibition Period: 3 April 2021 to 15 May 2021, Open 10am – 7pm daily
Venue: 1H Yong Siak Street, Tiong Bahru Estate, Singapore 168641

  • Parents Webinar: Understanding Games, Gamers & Game Addiction

Jointly organised by the Media Literacy Council (MLC) and SOOS OIO, this webinar on gaming and gaming addiction is back for its second edition! After a successful first run, the second edition will build on parents’ understanding of gaming and gaming addiction while addressing any further concerns they may have. The webinar will take place on Saturday, 21 November at 10 am via Zoom.

SOOS OIO is a social enterprise that uses gaming to empower youth through workshops and friendly competitions in the community. This webinar is one of the projects supported by the MLC through its Better Internet x Youth Call-for-Proposals (CFP) initiative, which aims to support digital literacy community initiatives that promote online safety, responsibility and civility.

The 3-hour webinar will consist of sharing sessions from gaming industry experts from SOOS OIO, an expert from the MLC, and youth psychologists on gaming trends, what makes it popular among children, its benefits and pitfalls, and how to identify and curb gaming addition.

Gaming as a topic is of particular interest now as youths spend more time on their devices amid extended periods of stay-home and safe distancing measures. How can parents harness gaming as a tool to enhance their child’s overall development? Understanding gaming and its potential effects can help parents better manage children’s gaming habits, and will also serve as a bridge to building greater understanding between parent and child.
